Governance
The Cornwall Stork Project is a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1211474). Regulated by the Charity Commission. We are governed by a board of trustees who serve voluntarily and are accountable to the Charity Commission, our partners, and the public.
Our Trustees
Our trustees give their time for free. They set strategy, do most of the work, oversee finances, and hold the charity to its objects: the conservation, reintroduction and study of White Storks in Cornwall and the wider South West.

Charity details
We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Our full public record, including trustees, accounts, and annual returns, is available on the Commission's online register.
Annual reports & accounts
As a young charity registered in 2024, our first full set of annual accounts will be filed with the Charity Commission in line with statutory deadlines. Once published, they will be available here and on the Commission's register.
For early sight of any of the above, contact the trustees via the contact page.
The board of trustees meets regularly to oversee the charity's activities. Day to day work is delivered by Yan and the other Trustees, assisted by a small team of volunteers, supported by partner sanctuaries and ecologists across Cornwall and beyond.
All donations are spent on the charitable purposes: feeding and caring for the storks, importing rescue birds from Europe, monitoring released birds, and engaging the public through education and community events. No trustee receives payment for their role.
If you have a concern about how the charity is being run, please contact the Chair via the contact page. Serious concerns can also be raised with the Charity Commission.
